Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Groundperson to support installation, maintenance and repair of energized and de-energized overhead lines. You will work from the ground, assist with material handling, and help ensure safe, compliant execution of tasks across sites.

Ideal candidates demonstrate problem-solving, reliability and a strong safety mindset. Travel may be required for emergency storm work; a valid CDL is preferred and a license is required or

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career.
• Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.
• Driver license required; willing to obtain CDL within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead line work following company established Safety and Health standards and from the ground.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed.
• Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
• Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer and hand-line etc.).
• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
• Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson
