Texas Department of Transportation in Lavaca County seeks an Equipment Operator to maintain and operate a range of heavy machinery, ensuring road conditions and safety across the district. The role requires reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a team to support routine maintenance and unexpected events.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, coordinating daily tasks, assisting with traffic control, and training colleagues in safe operation practices.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in maintenance and/or construction equipment operation.
• Valid driver’s license and Texas Commercial Driver's License for equipment operation.

Responsabilités

• Operates heavy equipment including tractor-trailer haul truck, motor grader and excavators.
• Supports traffic control, safety procedures and site maintenance as required.
• May train other employees on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Coordinates equipment operations for daily work assignments.
• Participates in emergency response duties and related tasks.
