Job summary

S.C. Swiderski (SCS) is seeking a General Laborer II to support field construction on residential and multi-family projects.

The role emphasizes site cleanliness, material staging, assisting carpenters and site leaders, and contributing to safe, high-quality execution. You will progressively take on more independent tasks, operate lifts where certified, perform material prep, and help with quality checks and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of residential and/or commercial construction experience.
• Proficient understanding of building materials and construction sequencing.
• Experience operating lifts (telehandler, boom, forklift, scissor), preferred.
• Knowledge of reading/interpreting basic blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong problem-solving, reliability, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Level II: Independent Contributor – perform Level I duties with increased independence.
• Maintain jobsite cleanliness, organization, and material staging.
• Assist carpenters, trades, and Site Superintendents in more advanced tasks.
• Safely operate lifts and jobsite equipment where certified.
• Assist with material inventory, counts, and reporting shortages.
• Support project flow by preparing materials and staging for teams.
• Assist with quality control and safety reporting.
