Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Intermediate-level equipment operator to operate power construction equipment for excavation, loading and grading work on roads and rights-of-way. Candidates should be able to perform maintenance, assist with trenching, and ensure fluids are checked and lubrication maintained.

The role requires alertness to safety, accurate operation, and occasional instruction to coworkers in safe techniques. Willingness to work in variable outdoor conditions is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment to excavate, move and grade material on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and dig ditches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• May train others in safe operation of equipment and job techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify issues or defects.
