Job summary

Kiewit in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an intermediate-level operator to handle power construction equipment for excavation, loading, hauling and road grading tasks. You will work on roads and rights-of-way, ensure proper tool and fluid maintenance, and may train others in safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities include trenching and ditch construction, equipment inspections, and adherence to safety and project rules on site, with possible irregular hours as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior field experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment while performing maintenance on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Instruct and train others in safe operation of construction equipment and techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects or errors.
