Job summary

Aerotek, a leading staffing firm, is seeking a Precision Machinist in Decatur, AL for first shift. You will set up and operate CNC equipment, edit programs at the machine, select tooling, and inspect parts to tight tolerances.

Requirements include 3+ years of CNC experience, blueprints/GDT, and the ability to work independently. Onsite role with competitive hourly pay and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Ability to independently run a CNC machine from setup to finished part.
• Program editing experience.
• Complete machine setup expertise.
• Tool change and tooling selection proficiency.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Strong GD&T knowledge.
• Experience inspecting machined parts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience holding tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment independently.
• Edit and modify CNC programs directly at the machine.
• Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters.
• Perform tool offsets and machine adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Machine a variety of industrial components including shafts and pump parts.
• Manufacture custom one-off and low-volume parts.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues effectively.
• Maintain tight tolerances and uphold quality standards.
• Support repair and restoration projects for industrial equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machining equipment.
