Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA, LLC in Decatur, AL is seeking a 1st shift CNC Programmer II to interpret blueprints, design or modify CNC programs, set up the machine and tooling, and operate CNC machines to produce or modify metal components.

The role requires reading measuring instruments; prior industrial maintenance experience is preferred. A valid driver license is required. Applicants must pass a pre-employment exam. Base pay depends on skill and experience, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver license.
• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.
• Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.
• Crane/Forklift Certification.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, design or modify CNC programs, set up machine and tooling and operate CNC machines to produce or modify metal components.
• Work is diversified and machining is performed to ordinary tolerances.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and measure accuracy of machine operation.
• Read job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions.
• Select, install and adjust drills, cutters, dies, guides and holding devices.
• Move controls or mounts gears, cams or templates to set feed rates, cutting speeds, depths and angles.
• Requires advanced knowledge of various metals and machining measurements.
• Monitor machine operation and perform daily maintenance checks.
• Keep work area and machine clean; other tasks as assigned.
