Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring an Assistant Manager for Ski Patrol. This leadership role oversees daily mountain patrol operations, coordinating patrollers with senior leaders to drive safety and guest service. The position blends advanced patrolling duties with leadership development and operational continuity.

You will mentor patrollers, participate in daily tasks as needed, and help maintain a strong culture of safety and service across the mountain community.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of patrol or similar experience.
• Current EMT or OEC certification.
• Knowledge of patrol including: medical, scheduling, weather, training, snowmobile, accident investigation, lift evacuation, and slope safety.
• Effective decision making skills.
• Fluent English communication and comprehension.
• 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patrollers across the entire mountain in daily patrol operations, under the advisement of the senior leadership team.
• Hold employees accountable to the Employee Manual and Patrol Manual.
• Deliver positive and constructive feedback to patrollers, including coaching and disciplinary action when necessary.
• Conduct timely performance evaluations in alignment with input from multiple sources.
• Assist with special event planning and preparation.
• Ensure accountability of patroller development by tracking training performance.
