Job summary

JR Merit, Inc. is seeking a Site Safety Specialist to support Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across Western US construction sites. You will partner with field teams to identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

This role requires field presence, travel up to 50%, and flexibility for extended schedules. JR Merit offers competitive benefits including medical, 401(k) matching, and PTO.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction health and safety or equivalent field exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related science.
• OSHA CFR 1926 knowledge.
• First Aid/CPR and OSHA 30 certifications.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Conduct field safety observations, inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Develop and deliver orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training
• Support Site-Specific Safety Plans and JSAs
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions
• Maintain safety documentation and reporting
• Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to improve safety
• Assist workers' compensation and return-to-work coordination
