Job summary

H.J. Martin and Son is seeking a Safety Specialist to lead our safety program on construction sites. You will work with the safety team to ensure compliance with standards, develop and implement safety plans, and assist with training and record keeping.

Responsibilities include site safety plans, incident investigations, OSHA training, and daily travel to various job sites as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Occupational Safety degree preferred, but not required.
• Field construction experience preferred.
• Ability to travel daily for an undetermined amount of time and mileage.
• Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat, Foxit and Microsoft Office: Word and Outlook.
• Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Create and document safety plans with Project Managers.
• Perform safety training and OSHA-related activities.
• Investigate incidents and assist with return-to-work processes.
• Conduct job site inspections to identify hazards and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records and prepare reports.
