Job description

Immediate Opportunity | Full-Time | Field-Based | Red Oak, TX

Are you a hands-on safety professional who is at home on an active jobsite, connects easily with crews, and knows how to turn safety expectations into safe behaviors?

Velocity Safety Advisors is seeking a Site Safety Coordinator to provide daily field safety leadership, training, and compliance support on indoor construction and active data center projects.

This is an opportunity to be more than a set of eyes on the floor. Our Site Safety Coordinators are field leaders, coaches, and trainers who work alongside site leadership to spot risk early, keep crews engaged, and put the Vision Technologies safety program into practice every day.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct a minimum of two daily safety walks per building to monitor work practices, PPE usage, and potential hazards, documenting inspections in Microsoft Forms.
  • Lead daily Stretch and Flex sessions and review required safety documentation (AHA/JHA/PTP/TBT).
  • Engage with crews to discuss safety concerns, provide coaching, and encourage open communication.
  • Identify and document hazards, incidents, and near-misses, and submit daily notes and logs to site leadership.
  • Support incident investigations and help track corrective actions to completion.
  • Help maintain site-level emergency response readiness and conduct drills as needed.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor safety practices and report concerns.
  • Conduct MEWP and Fall Protection training.
  • Deliver training on new or existing PPE requirements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and safety activities.
  • Implement the Vision Technologies safety program on assigned site(s).
How You'll Communicate and Escalate
  • Safety-related issues: Bring to the site Foreman's attention and inform the Senior Safety Manager.
  • Customer escalations: Bring to the site Foreman's attention and inform/escalate to the Senior Safety Manager. Vision employees will inform the PM/Program Manager, who handles all correspondence with customers.
  • Day-to-day direction comes from local site leadership, while you keep the Safety team updated.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry in a safety role.
  • Sound familiarity with construction industry safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and an email application such as MS Office.
  • Comfort coaching crews, speaking up about unsafe practices, and building trust with field personnel.
  • Strong documentation and recordkeeping habits.
Required Credentials
  • Required: OSHA 30 certificate
  • Valid driver's license
The Right Candidate

We're looking for more than someone who walks the site with a checklist.

The ideal candidate is visible, approachable, and consistent: someone who knows the crews by name, notices what's changed since yesterday, and can explain why a hazard matters in a way that sticks.

You should be comfortable leading the morning stretch, stopping unsafe work, training on MEWPs and fall protection, and working alongside foremen and site leadership with professionalism and integrity.

Most importantly, you understand that safety is built every day, one walk and one conversation at a time.

  • Indoor construction or active data center environments.
  • PPE worn at all times; standing and walking for long periods.
  • Workspace is limited and often shared with other site leaders.
  • Hours vary based on onsite team schedules and client needs.
  • Parking is often limited and may require walking long distances or using shuttles.

At Velocity Safety Advisors, our coordinators don't just spot hazards. They help crews work safer every day.
