Job summary

Velocity Safety Advisors is seeking a Safety Consultant to provide hands-on safety leadership, consulting, training, and compliance support across the Central Indiana market.

The role emphasizes field-based safety leadership, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on building trusted advisor relationships and delivering practical, real-world safety solutions to clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• BCSP CHST minimum requirement.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification within the last 3 years.
• Additional safety/environmental certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on safety consulting and field support to clients and project teams.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, observations, and risk assessments.
• Identify hazards and develop corrective and preventative actions.
• Assist with JHAs, JSAs, site-specific safety plans, and emergency response planning.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and training sessions.
• Assist with injury, illness, near-miss, and liability investigations.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and client requirements.
• Coordinate safety with subcontractors, vendors, and third-party personnel.
• Develop safety reports, correspondence, and corrective-action documentation.
• Build strong client relationships and provide practical, solutions-focused guidance.
• Help clients develop proactive strategies to reduce incidents.

Velocity Safety Advisors is seeking a Safety Consultant to provide hands-on safety leadership, consulting, training, and compliance support to clients and project teams throughout the Central Indiana market.

This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional safety inspection and compliance work. Our consultants serve as trusted advisors, problem-solvers, educators, and field leaders, helping clients identify risk, strengthen safety programs, improve performance, and create safer workplaces.

What You'll Do

• Provide hands-on safety consulting and field support to clients, managers, supervisors, and field personnel.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, behavioral observations, and risk assessments.
• Identify hazards and develop practical corrective and preventative actions.
• Assist with JHAs, JSAs, site-specific safety plans, and emergency response planning.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, Safety Stand Downs, and employee training.
• Assist with injury, illness, near-miss, property damage, and general liability investigations.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, federal, state, local, and client-specific requirements.
• Communicate regulatory and company requirement changes to field and management teams.
• Coordinate safety requirements with subcontractors, vendors, and third-party personnel.
• Develop professional safety reports, correspondence, recommendations, and corrective-action documentation.
• Build strong client relationships while providing objective, practical, and solutions-focused safety guidance.
• Help clients develop proactive strategies to reduce incidents and continuously improve safety performance.

What We're Looking For

• 3-6+ years of field-based safety experience preferred, particularly in construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, power, or other high-hazard environments.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA and applicable safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to independently assess risk, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound safety decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to positively influence supervisors, managers, and field personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety management systems is preferred.
• All experience levels will be considered, with responsibilities and career level aligned to qualifications and experience.

Required Credentials

• BCSP certification- CHST at a minimum
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification within the last 3 years
• Additional safety, environmental, or industry certifications- preferred
