Job summary

Cognizant in Hartford, CT is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (Observability) to drive observability strategies, improve performance, and boost service reliability across enterprise environments. You will collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to enhance monitoring capabilities and accelerate incident resolution.

The role requires 7+ years in SRE or related fields, hands-on work with AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, incident management, and SRE best practices.
• Experience supporting cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement observability solutions using AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, and related monitoring platforms.
• Establish performance baselines, SLIs/SLOs, and monitoring standards to improve application availability and user experience.
• Analyze application and infrastructure telemetry to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis efforts and provide architectural recommendations to prevent recurring incidents.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to improve alerting, runbooks, incident management processes, and platform resilience.
