Job summary

Axon is seeking an engineer for the APX SRE CloudOps team to build the Zero Touch Platform using Golang and Temporal. You will write automation workflows, APIs, and services to reduce manual toil while owning production readiness and contributing to incident response.

The role involves significant software development with standard DevOps practices and a hybrid work model from Seattle or Boston, with in-office Tue–Fri and remote Mondays.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience managing cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar.
• Experience operating in Kubernetes platforms like AKS, EKS, or similar.
• Experience utilizing CI/CD platforms to automate provisioning infrastructure, software builds, tests, and releases.
• Experience using observability tools to assist with debugging issues.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools for provisioning infrastructure such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Builder-operator mindset with production ownership (uptime, SLOs, on-call, incident leadership).

Responsibilities

• Develop Temporal workflows and Go services on the Zero Touch Platform.
• Write performant, maintainable code; participate in code reviews and CI/CD.
• Build foundational platforms and tools to provision services rapidly, securely, cost-effectively.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response; prioritize automation targets.
• Debug and resolve issues in cloud-native distributed systems.
• Educate the org on new architectural patterns.
• Provide robust documentation for self-service use.
