Axon in Seattle offers a Senior Software Engineer II role in the Real Time Operations pillar with hybrid work in our Seattle office. You will architect distributed systems, APIs, and cloud services that demand high availability and low latency, while mentoring engineers and partnering with product and design to deliver customer value.

You will collaborate across teams to create integrated solutions, raise engineering standards, and adopt AI tools to enhance productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable cloud systems.
• Backend experience in Go, Java, Python; frontend in React or Angular.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL data stores such as MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch.

Responsibilities

• Impact the development and design; launching new features and initiatives.
• Lead engineering architecture design reviews.
• Set a high technical bar for the team through code and architecture design reviews.
• Mentoring & coaching engineers.
• Working with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated solutions for customers.
• Identify improvements to raise engineering processes and long-term thinking.
• Build services with high availability and low latency in mission-critical space.
• Scale APIs, cloud services and ingestion pipelines.
• Work with AI tools (Claude, OpenAI/Codex, Cursor).
