Job summary

Axon is hiring an APX SRE CloudOps engineer to help build the Zero Touch Platform using Golang and Temporal. The role combines software development with DevOps ownership and requires on-site presence in Seattle or Boston with a hybrid schedule, Tuesdays through Fridays onsite and Mondays remote.

You will develop workflows, APIs, and services that automate cloud operations at scale, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to incident response and architectural improvements.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of engineering experience in cloud/DevOps roles.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Proficiency with languages like Python, Go, C#, Java, or similar.
• Experience operating in Kubernetes environments (AKS/EKS).
• Experience using CI/CD to automate provisioning, tests, and releases.
• Familiarity with observability tools for debugging and performance.
• IaC tooling experience (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Proven production ownership including uptime and on-call leadership.
• Empathy to support software engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop Temporal workflows and Go services on the Zero Touch Platform for automating cloud operations at scale.
• Write performant, maintainable code; participate in code reviews, design reviews, and CI/CD.
• Build foundational platforms and tools to provision services rapidly, securely and cost-effectively.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response; identify next automation targets.
• Debug and resolve issues in cloud-native distributed systems.
• Educate teams on new architectural patterns.
• Provide robust documentation for self-service usage.
• Take calculated risks and champion new ideas.
