Job summary

Ascend Performance Materials is seeking a Site Process Safety Leader to deploy the PSM program across operating units. You will partner with ESSH and manufacturing teams to identify process safety scenarios and implement controls to prevent or mitigate them.

Strong stakeholder engagement at all levels is essential. You will develop metrics, drive risk reduction, and mentor program owners while ensuring compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering (chemical or mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in risk-based process safety approach as identified by CCPS or similar.
• Leadership and strong communication skills with potential team leadership experience.
• Ability to read and understand Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Experience deploying and improving process safety programs and participating in audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead process safety program deployment into operating units and develop owners for PSM programs.
• Holds site accountable for PSM and drives PSM behavior.
• Prioritize and ensure timely completion of process safety action items with site leadership.
• Develop site/unit program owners for process safety programs.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce site risk using a risk-based approach.
• Coordinate process safety training at the site.
• Lead deployment of new regulatory or company requirements for process safety.
• Ensure OSHA PSM and EPA RMP compliance at the site.
• Participate in process safety audits and incident investigations.
• Engage with frontline operations to identify process safety improvements.
• Maintain a process safety scorecard and engage site leaders with metrics.
