Job summary

HouseSmart Construction, a division of Clayton, is seeking a Site Prep Associate in Shelby, NC. You will help prepare home sites for delivery and installation, conduct site evaluations, finalize placement details, ensure access, and assess drainage conditions.

The role involves light grading, operating site-prep equipment (skid steers, mini excavators), and documenting site conditions. Full-time, Monday–Friday; pay $18.00/hr+ based on experience, with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Experience operating construction or site-prep equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of grading, drainage, and excavation practices.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Job description

Site Prep Associate

The Site Prep Associate plays a critical role in preparing home sites for the successful delivery and installation of manufactured homes. This position is responsible for site evaluations, finalizing home placement details, ensuring site accessibility, assessing drainage conditions, and performing light grading and site preparation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and assessments to verify home placement and setup requirements.
• Perform light grading, site leveling, and drainage improvements as needed.
• Operate equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, and other site preparation machinery.
• Evaluate site access routes for delivery and installation equipment.
• Identify and address grading, drainage, and site preparation concerns before home delivery.
• Document site conditions and communicate recommendations to project teams.
• Follow all safety policies and equipment operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older and have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record to be authorized to drive company vehicles.
• Experience operating construction, grading, or site preparation equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic grading, drainage, and excavation practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
