Job summary

EC Electric is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate processing and recording of payroll for Bargaining employees, while serving as a customer service contact for internal staff on payroll inquiries and document requests.

You will work with the payroll team to reconcile, tax employer-paid benefits, manage garnishments, and run weekly Certified Payroll. Comprehensive compensation package includes 401(k) matching and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll for multiple employees, including union payroll preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and highly organized work style.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll transactions accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with payroll team to ensure timely updates.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
• Understand proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
• Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
• Execute time and attendance processing and interface with KeyStyle software.
• Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.
• Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
• Process manual checks and/or requests for stop payment.
• Load import files from other departments as it pertains to payroll.
• Research and respond to items in need of correcting.
• Weekly running, review and disbursement of Certified Payroll.
• Monthly processing of MER reports and Market Recovery reporting.
• Monthly processing of OCIP reporting.
• Weekly processing of Intents and Affidavits for L&I.
• Weekly processing of employment claims.
• Weekly processing of New Hire packets.

Job description

Summary: The Payroll Specialist position will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll for all of our Bargaining employees. In addition, this position will act as a customer service agent to internal employees, approaching both management and non-management positions with the highest level of communication to assist with payroll inquiries and document requests.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.

2. Collaborating closely with payroll specialist team to ensure timely updates

3. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

4. Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.

5. Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.

6. Execute time and attendance processing and interface with KeyStyle software.

7. Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.

8. Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.

9. Process manual check and/or request for stop payment.

10. Load import files received from other departments as it pertains to payroll (All Companies).

11. Research and respond to appropriate persons regarding items in need of correcting.

12. Weekly running, review and disbursement of Certified Payroll.

13. Monthly processing of MER reports and Market Recovery reporting.

14. Monthly processing of OCIP reporting.

15. Weekly processing of Intents and Affidavits for L&I.

16. Weekly processing of employment claims.
