Job summary

Bechtel is designing, building, and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. The Labor Relations team supports field projects with staffing, training, and compliance with union contracts.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of labor relations functions on field projects or in an office environment.
• Understanding of labor and employment laws and related legislation.
• Familiarity with contract negotiation practices and grievance hearings.
• Working with local unions and building trades councils.

Responsibilities

• Assists Labor Relations function on field projects, including construction, maintenance and operations, or provides support in office locations.
• Prepares staffing forecasts and assists with recruiting for manual workforce; may coordinate national recruiting efforts.
• Attends meetings with Bechtel's clients and project teams to discuss labor issues and resolutions.
• Develops and delivers Labor Relations training programs for manual employees and supervisors.
• Performs research and develops reports on productivity, union trends, and wage data.
• Extracts information from labor union contracts to prepare wage bulletins and trend studies.
• Supports implementation of affirmative action goals and contractor outreach programs.
• Monitors labor contract negotiations and maintains records on expiration data.
