Reporting To

Project Operations Manager

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead all on-site activities of medium to large projects, ensuring cost-effective execution in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements. You will lead the site team, define guidelines, and allocate tasks. The work model for this role is: #LI-remote. This position contributes to the Electrification Smart Power division in North America and involves:

1. Planning project on-site activities with the Site Team Lead, including resources, equipment, and milestones.
2. Coordinating agreements with customers and external resources on construction targets, health and safety, site organization, and policies.
3. Managing the handover process of the project area to the end customer, coordinating all on-site activities for start-up, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with standards and requirements.
4. Building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as a project representative.
5. Ensuring a detailed, compliant site Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place, and that all on-site resources are trained and proactive about safety. Empowered to suspend activities if safety violations occur.
6. Handling, storing, and installing ABB equipment properly, coordinating logistics for timely delivery.
7. Managing subcontractors on site to meet quality and delivery standards.

Qualifications

• College degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of service project experience with an electrical OEM, including leading long-term field assignments and quality assurance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience in writing test plans and reports.
• Ability to travel up to 60% within North America and stay away from home for extended periods.
• Strong understanding of UPS, STS, and PDU equipment site commissioning and engineered solutions oversight.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary site teams and third-party contractors.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise on-site commissioning and repair activities, ensuring safety and contractual compliance, and mentoring onsite technicians.
• Must have existing work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
