Reporting Line

This position reports to the Project Operations Manager.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead all on-site activities of medium to large projects, ensuring cost-effective execution in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements. You will lead the site team, define main guidelines, and allocate tasks.

This role contributes to the Electrification Smart Power division in North America. Your main responsibilities include:

1. Planning project on-site activities with the Site Team Lead, including resources, equipment, and milestones.
2. Coordinating agreements between customers and external resources on construction targets, health and safety, site organization, and policies.
3. Receiving the assigned site Project Manager to hand over to the end customer upon project completion, coordinating all on-site activities for start-up, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning.
4. Building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as a project representative.
5. Ensuring a detailed, compliant site Health & Safety plan is in place and resources are trained on safety policies, proactively promoting safety throughout the project. Empowered to suspend activities if safety violations occur.
6. Managing the handling, storage, and installation of ABB equipment, coordinating logistics for timely delivery.
7. Managing subcontractors on-site to ensure quality and progress meet standards and deadlines.

Qualifications for the Role

• College degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of service project experience with an electrical OEM, including leading long-term field assignments and quality assurance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience in writing test plans and reports.
• Ability to travel 60% within North America and be away from home for extended periods.
• Strong understanding of UPS, STS, and PDU equipment site commissioning and engineered solutions oversight.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary site teams and third-party contractors.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise onsite commissioning and repairs, ensuring safety and contractual compliance, and mentoring technicians.
• Must have valid work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
