Job summary

Reworld Waste, LLC seeks a Health & Safety Manager to lead the site safety program within a matrixed structure reporting to the Facility Manager and Regional H&S Manager. You will promote a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across operations.

Responsibilities include safety leadership, training, audits, incident investigations, contractor oversight, data reporting, and participation in the Voluntary Protection Program where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related field; certifications or equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum of 8 years of safety management experience in heavy industrial environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency with safety management systems (VPP) and related software; data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in the management of the facility’s safety and health programs.
• Oversee safety training programs and initiatives across operations.
• Lead safety audits/assessments, inspections, and compliance checks.
• Manage incident investigations and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors on safety standards and performance.
• Prepare and submit required documentation for OSHA and other regulators; maintain VPP program knowledge.
• Maintain safety documentation and prepare management reports on safety performance.
• Promote a safety culture through the Safety Committee and cross-functional engagement.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and health.
