Job summary

Fred Smith Company is seeking an experienced Grade Foreman for the Raleigh area. We are a heavy civil contractor serving commercial site work, public infrastructure and asphalt markets in North Carolina.

Key duties include leading the crew, maintaining logs, enforcing safety policies, and conducting daily JSA meetings and toolbox talks. Applicants should have 2+ years as a Foreman and experience with grading, site work, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Foreman.
• Experience with grading and site work operations, water/sewer/storm drain construction, asphalt paving.
• Experience with plans and crew/equipment scheduling.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Lead crew and equipment management on assigned projects.
• Maintain logs, daily reports and accurate time records.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures with personnel and subs.
• Conduct daily JSA meetings and weekly Toolbox Talks.
• Direct crews in equipment use and resource allocation.
• Monitor quality, productivity and project costs.
• Maintain good relations with the public, engineers, inspectors and customers.
