Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an ESH Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. You will help enforce OSHA standards and assist in incident investigations, injury management, and safety training across Layton projects.

You will conduct site-oriented safety orientations, participate in pre-construction meetings, and support HR and operations with compliance activities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with at least one year of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• OSHA 30-hour training for construction and Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) completed.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal relations and effective communication skills.
• Proficient written communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to convey safety commands and instructions clearly in English.
• Committed to continuous learning and growth in ESH competencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitors safety conditions and enforces OSHA and Layton Construction standards.
• Assist ESH Manager to investigate accidents and near misses, collecting initial data.
• Monitor workers' compensation issues and report information timely.
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations for project teams.
• Participate in pre-construction safety meetings and communicate needs.
• Assist with injury management to ensure appropriate medical care.
• Conduct industrial hygiene surveys to detect gases/noise and fit tests.
• Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors at site level.
• Support VP-Field Operations and HR on FMLA, ADA, and WC compliance.
• Attend monthly corporate Safety Committee meetings and perform other duties.
