Job summary

Kiewit seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support Texas road projects. Operate power construction equipment to excavate, move, and grade material with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include loading materials, trenching, and performing routine maintenance. Applicants should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including overtime when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience preferred.
• Must have working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment to excavate, move, and grade material.
• Load gravel, dirt, and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check fluid levels and lubricate equipment; perform basic maintenance.
• Instruct and train employees in safe operation of equipment and job techniques and skills.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects or issues.
