Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Equipment Operator to support power construction projects in Texas. You will operate heavy machinery to excavate, move and grade material on roads and rights-of-way, and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe operations.

The role requires reading and following instructions, adhering to safety rules, and working in variable outdoor conditions, including overtime. Prior experience with heavy equipment and a valid driver license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate various vehicles and heavy equipment to excavate, move and grade material.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand and smooth/grade roads.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Inspect equipment and maintain fluid levels and lubrication.
• May train and instruct others in safe operation and techniques.
