Job summary

TGW Systems Inc. is seeking a Site Engineering Specialist to act as the single onsite contact after implementation, guiding customer technicians and driving operational excellence at the Pittston facility.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary onsite liaison between the customer and TGW, ensuring clear communication and effective execution of automation activities.
  • Guide and develop customer maintenance and operations teams, providing hands-on support and training to improve system knowledge.
  • Lead maintenance activities, including planned preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated systems.
  • Provide advanced technical support (electrical, mechanical, controls) and mentor technicians in resolving complex issues.
  • Support incident management with timely resolution and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage monthly budget requirements and align expenses with contractual goals.
  • Ensure safety standards are followed and lead onsite safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with TGW LTS to track performance and share lessons learned.
  • Perform additional duties to support customer success and system performance.

The Site Engineering Specialist is a customer-facing role serving as the single point of contact onsite to support the automation systems post-implementation. This role guides the customer’s onsite technicians, drives operational excellence, and acts as the primary liaison between the customer and TGW for all automation-related matters. The Site Engineering Specialist ensures the overall performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the material handling system. This role is based at the customer facility in Pittston, PA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary onsite liaison between the customer and TGW, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and effective execution of automation-related activities.
  • Guide and develop customer maintenance and operations teams, providing hands‑on support, mentorship, and training to improve overall system knowledge and capability.
  • Build strong relationships with customer leadership and site personnel to proactively identify improvement opportunities and mitigate operational risk.
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities, including Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), troubleshooting, and repair of automated systems.
  • Provide advanced technical support (electrical, mechanical, and controls) and mentor technicians in resolving complex system issues.
  • Support incident management, ensuring timely resolution of issues and leading root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Support onsite automation technicians, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance management with the customer.
  • Manage monthly budget requirements and expenses in alignment with contractual and operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and lead onsite safety initiatives, including investigations and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the broader TGW LTS organization to track performance, document issues, and share lessons learned.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support customer success and system performance.
Requirements

Education: High school diploma required. Associate degree or technical certificate preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of mechatronic troubleshooting and repair of material handling systems (conveyors, AS/RS, shuttles). Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in automated warehouse or manufacturing environments.

Travel: 10% of travel as required.

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership and people development skills, including experience mentoring both technicians and customer teams.
  • Comfortable leading other team members without formal direct reporting relationship.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms and maintenance planning processes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to train and develop both technical and operational personnel.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk around industrial and/or warehouse environment for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to work safely with and around moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts, and electricity that require safety protocols.
  • Ability to move and use muscles for extended periods of time without fatigue.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Ability to communicate regularly with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
  • Installation only: Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other heavy industrial equipment, with appropriate training and certification.
