Job summary

Jackson’s Food Company is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the site’s environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across all shifts. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and HR to prevent injuries, reduce risk, and build a proactive safety culture.

This role will drive risk assessments, incident investigations, training, audits, and OSHA compliance. The Safety Manager will own procedures (HazCom, LOTO, Machine Guarding, PPE) and maintain an annual audit calendar, while

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in manufacturing safety/EHS with hands-on floor exposure.
• Implemented or maintained a comprehensive site safety program (training, audits, investigations, corrective actions).
• Experience in data & program management: OSHA recordkeeping, dashboards, audit logs, action trackers.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the site Safety & Health Program; update procedures and maintain annual audit calendar.
• Lead LOTO and machine safeguarding; verify guarding effectiveness and coach employees.
• Plan and deliver safety training across all shifts; maintain records and ensure language-appropriate delivery.
• Conduct incident and near-miss investigations using root-cause methods; document OSHA 300/300A/301 and verify corrective actions.
• Execute floor inspections and behavioral observations; track and close corrective actions by due dates.
• Coordinate emergency readiness (EAP, first aid/CPR/AED, spill response) and lead drills with multi-shift coverage.
• Partner with Maintenance/Engineering on risk assessments and engineered safeguards.
• Coordinate external consultations/audits and regulatory reporting; host visitors and ensure permit-to-work controls.
• Engage and lead the Safety Committee and shift safety champions; drive near-miss reporting and recognition.
