Job summary

PPG Delaware seeks an experienced EHS Specialist to manage the Environmental, Health and Safety program at the site. You will report to the EHS Manager and lead training, risk assessments, and incident investigations to keep the workplace safe and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, technical and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering or a related science.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical or automotive manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA and Workers’ Compensation regulations.
• Ability to lead change and build a safety culture across levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG policies.
• Provide leadership for EHS training.
• Evaluate EHS impacts of capital projects and ensure risk assessments are completed.
• Manage safety programs including JSA, risk assessments, risk mitigating actions, and MOC.
• Support site management with incident investigations and corrective actions using 5-Why and other methods.
• Oversee audits, corrective action management and readiness for compliance audits.
• Lead emergency response activities and subcommittees.
• Develop programs to reduce EHS risks and ensure regulatory & corporate requirements.
