Job summary

EHSCareers is partnering with a manufacturing company to hire an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist who will lead site EHS programs and strengthen regulatory compliance.

The role requires five years of EHS experience, OSHA certification, and strong communication skills. You will train staff, conduct investigations, and coordinate with HR, leadership, and external agencies to improve safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing; automotive experience preferred.
• OSHA safety certification required.
• CSP or similar credential preferred.
• Experience with OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and regulatory audits.
• Knowledge of EPA requirements, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and SDS management.
• Experience with workers' compensation claims and return-to-work coordination.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute site EHS strategies encouraging employee participation and safe behaviors.
• Conduct plant walkthroughs, identify hazards, and drive corrective actions.
• Lead Safety Committee meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Represent the site during regulatory inspections and audits.
• Maintain OSHA records, regulatory reports, and training documentation.
• Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis.
• Coordinate injury response, medical referrals, and workers' compensation with HR.
• Develop and deliver safety training and site orientations.
• Manage occupational health programs with external medical providers.
• Analyze incident trends and implement controls to reduce exposure and injury risks.
