Job summary

Hoffman Construction seeks a Cost Engineer to join the Cost Management team at project sites. You will analyze design/ construction documents, review cost proposals, and prepare estimates for scope changes, collaborating with Construction Managers and Superintendents.

Responsibilities include cost reporting, tracking, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors. A strong background in both CSA and MEP is highly desirable, with a salary range of $85,000–$120,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience with industrial/hi-tech semiconductor projects preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred or ability to obtain within 18 months.
• Bachelor/related degree or equivalent field experience required.
• Education in materials and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain job cost reports (budgets, commitments, forecasts).
• Track costs by bid package and change orders.
• Maintain project indicators and visual graphics.
• Validate cost proposals with subs and vendors.
• Monthly reconciliation of project cost reports.
• Quantify materials from design/construction documents.
• On-screen take-off of material quantities.
• Prepare cost authorization packages.
• Summarize quantities in organized formats.
