Job summary

You will develop plans, prepare construction documents, and ensure budgets and schedules are met while mentoring junior engineers and interfacing with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning.
• 10-13 years of experience in civil/site design, land use planning, or project management.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or AICP certification.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D (2014 or later), and HydroCAD (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal environmental permitting processes and land use regulations.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary project teams, with a focus on site/civil and environmental projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• LEED or ENV SP certification or experience in sustainable design practices (preferred).
• Experience in stormwater management, hydrologic modeling, and erosion control design (preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of construction cost estimating and project budgeting (preferred).
• Strong background in project bidding, proposal preparation, and client presentations (preferred).
• Experience preparing technical proposals and project bids for public and private sector projects (preferred).
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, coordination, and execution of civil engineering projects across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
• Manage engineering design tasks for civil/site development projects from conceptual design through construction documentation.
• Develop project plans, allocate resources, and establish project schedules.
• Lead preparation of site/civil construction documents, including site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management systems, and erosion control plans.
• Develop technical specifications, cost opinions, and project reports.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, resolve design conflicts, and address project requirements.
• Manage preparation and submission of environmental permitting documents.
• Oversee land use permit applications, stormwater management plans, and environmental impact assessments.
• Manage and mentor project staff and junior engineers.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and other engineering software.
• Conduct quality control reviews of project deliverables.
• Integrate LEED and ENV SP sustainable design principles where applicable.
• Analyze project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and make decisions regarding costs, technical feasibility, and schedules.
