Job summary

Modern Engineering Solutions is seeking a Civil Engineer with 3–6 years of site design or land development experience for end-to-end project leadership on commercial developments. You will own client relationships, coordinate internal teams, and guide projects from kickoff through construction support, with structured mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications include a Civil Engineering degree, EIT (PE preferred), and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 3–6 years of civil site design or land development experience
• Demonstrated project coordination or management experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, pipe networks, surfaces)
• Experience with stormwater calculations and detention basin sizing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction
• Self-starter comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Texas-based candidates only

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial site development projects including timelines, budgets, and quality standards
• Serve as primary client contact for technical discussions and progress updates
• Coordinate drafters and junior engineers; review deliverables for consistency and quality
• Oversee site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design
• Prepare and review stormwater calculations and detention sizing
• Lead permitting efforts with municipal, county, and state agencies (including TCEQ)
• Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and support construction administration
• Manage project documentation including design decisions and submittal packages
• Support proposals and business development efforts
• Mentor junior team members in technical skills and project coordination
