Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer to support site planning, permitting, and construction oversight across the Northeast. You will draft plans, perform field work, and prepare cost estimates while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and eagerness to learn; preferred Masters and hands-on AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience are a plus. This onsite opportunity involves collaboration across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• FE Exam passed and EIT certification or plan to by June 2027.
• Internship experience in surveying, engineering, permitting, or construction observation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; eager to learn and well organized.

Responsibilities

• Support site planning and design, problem-solving, and permitting assignments.
• Draft figures, details, and plans.
• Complete field work supporting design and construction projects.
• Prepare design calculations and opinions of probable construction cost.
• Prepare technical specifications, memoranda, reports, and project correspondence.
• Apply design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide construction phase services, including construction observation.
• Review shop drawings and submittals.
• Create record plans.
• Collaborate with industry experts on infrastructure projects across the Northeast.
• Contribute to projects from conceptual stages through design, permitting, bidding, and construction oversight.
