Job summary

Dewberry is seeking Site/Civil Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 to join our Site/Civil department in Richmond, VA. You will work on projects for commercial and government clients, gaining hands-on experience in site development, grading, and design. Housing stipends may be provided to eligible candidates.

Current students pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering with internship or project experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills are

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering required.
Previous internship experience preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office is required.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Site/civil development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, and erosion and sediment control design.
Preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
May also conduct code research, write specifications, and obtain permitting.
