Job summary

Dewberry is seeking Site/Civil Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 in our Virginia Beach, VA office to work on a variety of projects for clients in the commercial and government sector. This is an excellent opportunity to apply the latest technology while gaining hands-on experience on site development for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

A housing stipend may be provided to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office is required.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Site/civil development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, and erosion and sediment control design.
• Preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
• Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
• May also conduct code research, write specifications, and obtain permitting.
