Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Lanham, MD office to work on site/civil design projects for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Local candidates preferred; housing stipend not provided.

Typical projects include design for site development, grading, stormwater, and capital improvement programs. The internship offers hands-on experience, workshops, and a team environment with opportunities to collaborate on real projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Site/civil development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, and erosion and sediment control design.
• Preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
• Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
• May also conduct code research, write specifications, and obtain permitting.
