Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Site/Civil Engineering in Arlington, VA. You will support site feasibility studies, field work, and design documentation across land development projects, working with industry leaders to grow technical and professional skills.

The role offers exposure to permits, reports, and design plans, with hands-on experience in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and site projects.

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering; GPA of 3.0+ preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, estimates and design documents using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and related tools.
• Evaluate soil, terrain, hydrological, topographical and geological data for planning and design impact.
• Support zoning, ordinance and permit assessments; sidewalk estimations; feasibility analysis.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks.
• Perform other duties as requested.
