Job summary

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to join our Birmingham, AL or Huntsville, AL office. You will lead civil/site projects from concept through design and delivery, ensuring QA/QC and successful client engagement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, an active PE license (or ability to obtain within six months), and a minimum of 4 years of experience in civil/site design, with proficiency in Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license required (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil/site design, land development, or civil infrastructure.
• Experience with grading, drainage, and utility design.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and standard design tools.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil/site projects from concept through design and delivery.
• Prepare and oversee design for grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout.
• Perform and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and reports.
• Serve as engineer of record and ensure QA/QC on all deliverables.
• Coordinate with architects, developers, and internal disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure on-time delivery.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Participate in client meetings and support proposal development.
