Job summary

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to join our Birmingham, AL or Huntsville, AL office.

You will lead civil/site projects from concept through design and delivery, coordinating with architects and developers to ensure successful projects that meet budget and schedule. You will work with a team of engineers on grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout, applying Civil 3D and design tools to deliver QA/QC compliant documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil/site design, land development, or civil infrastructure.
• Strong experience with grading, drainage, and utility design.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and standard design tools.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil/site projects from concept through design and delivery.
• Prepare and oversee design for grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout.
• Perform and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and reports.
• Serve as engineer of record and ensure strong QA/QC on all deliverables.
• Coordinate with architects, developers, and internal disciplines to support integrated project delivery.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure on-time, on-budget performance.
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and designers.
• Participate in client meetings and support proposal development as needed.
