Job summary

Dowbuilt seeks a Project Engineer to support the complete construction lifecycle—from pre- to post-construction—with emphasis on estimating, scheduling, and subcontractor buy-out. You will work with the PM, superintendent, architects, vendors, and consultants to deliver high-quality, site-based projects.

You’ll read and manage plans and specs, issue RFPs, and prepare Subcontractor Agreements while maintaining safety and quality on busy Northeast job sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years construction management experience, high-end residential preferred.
• Construction Management degree or equivalent education plus experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and team-building skills with detail-oriented follow-through.
• Knowledge of technical construction terms and both traditional and new materials.
• Proficient in Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, BlueBeam.
• Familiar with Slack, Asana, SmartSheet, and Airtable; Sage 300 CRE is a plus.
• US Work Authorization.
• Willingness to travel to Northeast job sites.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project manager and superintendent to build according to plan and specs.
• Support estimating: take-offs, sub bids, and material pricing.
• Communicate with clients, partners, designers, field team, and subs.
• Read, manage plans, contracts, POs, shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Issue RFPs and distribute plans and contract documents.
• Create scope of work for subs and vendors for RFPS and Subcontractor Agreements.
• Conduct site walk-throughs to review plans and pricing.
