Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago (BBBSChi) is seeking a Full-time Site Based Partnership Facilitator for the Southland, IL and Northwest Indiana region. You will recruit volunteers and youth, build partner relationships, and coordinate program sessions across multiple sites.

The role requires facilitation, strong communication, and the ability to travel regularly. A degree in a relevant field is preferred, with 3-4 evenings and some weekend availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred; alignment with BBBS Mission and Vision essential.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in youth work, program management, or community partnerships preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills; bilingual a plus.
  • Availability for 3-4 evenings and some weekends; reliable car, license, and insurance required.
  • Regular travel in Chicago's Southland and Northwest Indiana region.

Position Summary:

The Site Based Partnerships Facilitator reports to the Director of Site Based Programs and builds connections with program partners to create the best one to one developmental relationship. This position manages a portfolio of 10-12 site-based programs across BBBSChi Service Area with schools, institutions, and corporations and serves as the primary point of contact. The Site Based Partnership Facilitator builds connections with key contacts at partner organizations to create rewarding program experiences for volunteers and youth. This includes recruitment of volunteers to serve as mentors and youth for individual programs as well as planning and facilitating fun, developmental activities during program sessions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervision responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead all volunteer and youth recruitment efforts across Southland and Northwest Indiana to ensure every mentoring program operates at or above capacity. Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans through school partnerships, community outreach, presentations, networking events, tabling opportunities, digital engagement, and relationship-building with community organizations and corporate partners. Serve as the primary ambassador for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago throughout the Southland and Northwest Indiana region by cultivating new community partnerships, identifying recruitment opportunities, and representing the agency at community events, school functions, and volunteer engagement activities.
  • Meet and exceed recruitment and enrollment goals by maintaining an active pipeline of prospective Bigs and Littles, conducting regular follow-up, overcoming enrollment barriers, and ensuring timely movement through the enrollment process.
  • Oversee all logistics, content, and budgets for program sessions, including evening and weekend commitments.
  • Provide regular recruitment and enrollment updates to program partners and agency leadership, utilizing data to identify trends, address recruitment challenges, and implement strategies that ensure each program maintains a target capacity of 15–20 active matches. Build and maintain strong relationships with school administrators, educators, corporate partners, community organizations, families, and volunteers to increase program awareness, strengthen partnerships, and sustain long-term recruitment efforts. Conduct Match Introduction Meetings and activate all new matches.
  • Develop group and one-on-one projects/activities for mentoring programs and provide on-site support and facilitation during mentoring sessions to develop match relationships, including strategic interventions that strengthen match relationships.
  • Provide and promote a safe environment for all children involved in the mentoring program, including, but not limited to, reporting/documenting unusual incidents where the safety of a child may be threatened.
  • Support in developing a Standard Report for each program year, including development of an action plan for improving program for the following fiscal year.
  • Participate in committees to update paperwork, policies, and/or procedures and contribute to team projects.
  • Provide friendly, approachable customer service, and represent the Agency and our mission in a professional and positive manner.
  • Provide documentation in agency database system that reflects accurate, timely, and descriptive support given/offered to mentor and mentee, Documentation includes, but limited to; match descriptions, program attendance, and match introduction meetings, and match participation.
  • The Southland-Northwest Indiana Facilitator will need to attend meetings and other agency events located in our Chicago headquarters as needed.
  • This position requires, on a regular basis, travel throughout Southland and Northwest Indiana. Applicants must have access to a reliable automobile, valid driver’s license and auto insurance to meet this requirement.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred; alignment with BBBS Mission and Vision essential.

  • 2-4 years’ experience in youth work, program management, or community partnerships preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Ability to inspire diverse groups, create inclusive programs, and work effectively with a remote team.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Availability for minimum 3-4 evenings and some weekends; reliable car, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance required; regular travel in Chicago's Southland and Northwest, Indiana region required, including but not limited to Homewood, Calumet City, Dolton, Richton Park, etc.
  • Individuals with existing connections to community organizations or stakeholders in the Southland/Northwest Indiana communities a plus.
Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. There is an expectation to work in office a minimum of two days per week.
