Job summary

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Site Assistant Superintendent I for the Mackinaw River State Fish & Wildlife Area to assist the Site Superintendent with program administration, maintain site records, and supervise facilities and grounds. The role includes coordinating groundskeeping, vehicle and fuel tracking, and reporting.

This is a fully in-office, union position with standard hours seasonally adjusted for hunting programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with courses in parks and recreation, natural resource administration or public administration.
• One year of related supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of the Site Superintendent, serves as a working supervisor and assists at Mackinaw River State Fish and Wildlife Area and other properties.
• Maintains site records and prepares required reports; supervises maintenance of site facilities and grounds.
• Coordinates groundskeeping and landscaping duties such as mowing and trimming.
• Monitors site fuel and vehicles and completes monthly tracking and reporting.
• Performs other duties as required within the scope of the role.
