Job summary

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources seeks a Natural Resources Manager to administer the Conservation Stewardship Program, providing front-line support and coordination with field staff. This position supervises staff, develops conservation management plans, conducts statewide inspections, and works with the Department of Revenue to implement program requirements.

The role reports to the Section Manager and involves both technical program management and supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fish, wildlife, forestry, natural heritage resource management, or related biological science.
• Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in fish, wildlife, forestry, or natural heritage resource management.
• Two years of professional experience providing technical direction/supervision to natural resource staff.
• Two years of experience establishing working relationships with federal, state, and local government representatives and conservation organizations.
• Two years of experience collecting and analyzing technical data and information.

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel with overnight stays
• Two years of professional experience providing technical direction/supervision to natural resource professional staff
• Two years of experience establishing working relationships with federal, state, and local government representatives and conservation organizations
• Two years of experience collecting and analyzing technical data and information
