Job summary

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University (Fairfax Campus) seeks a part‑time hourly Site Assistant/Classroom Technology Assistant. This dynamic, public‑facing role provides direct tech support and hospitality to our active senior members and volunteer professors.

You will ensure high‑quality presentations across in‑person, hybrid, and online classrooms. Hours are 25+ per week over 30 weeks per year, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Customer Service: Outstanding interpersonal skills and comfortable hosting events.
• Audience experience: Previous experience or high comfort working with senior adults (50+) and volunteer educators.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem solving: Ability to work independently and troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Prep: Set up AV equipment, microphones, webcams, and presentation tools before class.
• Instructor Liaison: Email volunteer professors to coordinate logistics and conduct tech practice sessions; review of presentation files as necessary.
• Live Event Hosting: Welcome attendees, manage Zoom rooms, troubleshoot tech issues mid-class, and coordinate Q&A sessions.
• Technical Management: Operate audio mixers, projectors, and hybrid presentation setups.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI Mason) seeks a part‑time hourly Site Assistant/Classroom Technology Assistant. This dynamic, public‑facing role provides direct tech support and hospitality to our active senior members and volunteer professors. You will ensure high‑quality presentations across in‑person, hybrid, and online classrooms.

Schedule & Compensation

• Hours: 25+ hours per week.
• Duration: 30 weeks per year (spanning 4 academic terms).
• Shift block: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
• Pay rate: $18.00 per hour (no benefits).

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Prep: Set up AV equipment, microphones, webcams, and presentation tools before class.
• Instructor Liaison: Email volunteer professors to coordinate logistics and conduct tech practice sessions.This also may include review of presentation files as necessary.
