Job summary
10x Genomics Inc in Pleasanton, CA, is seeking a motivated scientist to join the Single Cell Biology group to develop and optimize single cell assays. This full-time role performs hands-on molecular biology work to test, refine, and troubleshoot workflows and supports internal teams and customers.
You will collaborate across Molecular/Cell Biology, Chemistry, Fluidics, and Computational Biology, applying NGS expertise to design experiments, prepare libraries, analyze data, and troubleshoot
Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. or Ph.D. in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field
- Hands-on molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, and NGS library prep
- Direct experience with NGS workflows and standard molecular biology techniques
- Experience with experimental design and statistical data analysis
- Ability to perform complex multi-step experiments with planning and records
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Desire to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Perform standard and custom experiments to develop, test, and improve single cell assay workflows
- Prepare high-quality NGS libraries using established protocols
- Contribute to design, testing, and troubleshooting of new assay components
- Master use of existing tools and protocols and identify improvement opportunities
- Conceive and develop new tools and methods to support assay development
- Analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions and plan next steps
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Support, and Marketing
- Contribute to project plans and timelines for assigned workstreams
