Job summary

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking a Simulation Lab Support role to assist in preparation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and rooms in the PSTC.

You will collaborate with faculty and center staff to ensure smooth simulation sessions, manage inventory, and support use of simulation space for learners and visitors. Training and occasional after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in technical, computer, or healthcare-related areas preferred.
• Two to three years’ work experience demonstrating strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to independently move equipment (<25 lbs) and assist with heavier manikins (>25 lbs).
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills; able to take direction from superiors and work with students, faculty, staff and customers.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Adaptable to changes in role/schedule to meet needs of students and faculty.
• Technical aptitude with ability to learn simulation programs.
• Occasional weekends/evenings work required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with faculty and center staff to prepare, set up, maintain, and organize equipment for simulation sessions and events.
• Prepares and breaks down simulators, task trainers, labs, and equipment for events.
• Performs day-to-day maintenance and cleansing of equipment, simulators, and rooms.
• Operates simulation equipment and audio-visual systems during events, keeping equipment in working order.
• Supports faculty, students, and approved visitors in using simulation space and equipment.
• Maintains connectivity to equipment and troubleshoot software/hardware/network issues when needed.
• Maintains stock of durable and disposable supplies for lab events.
• Assists in role-playing applications and moulage setup with manikins and standardized patients.
• Inputs daily patient data for simulated patients in eDH and models simulator responses.
• Assists Operations Manager and Director in other duties for center functionality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
