Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock is seeking a Skilled Equipment Technician to support the preparation, operation, and maintenance of educational and assessment equipment for the D-H Patient Safety Training Center (PSTC) in Lebanon, NH.

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed. The role emphasizes hands-on setup, troubleshooting, and collaboration with faculty, students, and staff to ensure safe, effective simulation sessions.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; associate degree or EMT preferred.
• 2–3 years of work experience with strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to independently move equipment (≤25 lbs) and assist with heavier manikins (>25 lbs).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with students, faculty, staff and customers.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Technical aptitude and ability to learn simulation programs.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to set up and maintain equipment for simulation sessions.
• Prepare and break down simulators, task trainers, labs, and other equipment for events.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of equipment and rooms.
• Operate simulation equipment and AV systems during events, ensuring proper function.
• Support faculty, students, and visitors in using simulation space and equipment.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and simulation software/hardware issues as needed.
• Maintain inventory of supplies for lab events.
• Assist in role-play applications and moulage setup with manikins.
• Input daily patient data for simulated patients in the system.
• Program software to model simulator responses as specified by instructors.
• Assist Operations Manager and Director as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
