Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a skilled Building Equipment Technician to maintain and repair equipment across D-H Center facilities in Lebanon, NH. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring life-safety systems operate reliably, with evening shift hours and a 40-hour work week.

You will interpret blueprints and schematics, read manuals, and recommend cost-effective improvements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 2 years mechanical experience, formal technical training, and computer experience required.
• The ability to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and equipment manuals required.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of facility equipment and checks machine rooms.
• Evaluates effectiveness of procedures and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance and evaluates equipment for repair or replacement to prevent downtime.
• Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic tube system; responds to fire alarms and power/water losses affecting life safety equipment.
• Investigates complaints and maintains equipment histories with proper documentation.
• Assists in moving furniture and equipment using proper safety standards.
• Reports unsafe situations to supervisor and maintains a clean, safe work environment.
• Recommends spare parts to ensure prompt completion of work orders.
• Maintains familiarity with manuals, blueprints, and schematics; evaluates operation for improvements.
• Performs other duties as required.
